What is Freeze-dried dog food?
Freeze-drying gently removes the water from our raw ingredients without cooking them, so the food keeps on the shelf and is ready to serve. Because the food is never heated to cook it, freeze-drying keeps it close to the raw ingredients.
Does Freeze-dried require any preparation?
No.
Artisan Raw GO meals and treats are ready to serve as they are. Once the raw ingredients have been freeze-dried, they require no additional preparation. Simply open the bag and feed the required amount for the size of your pet.
Is this Kibble?
Freeze-dried is not kibble. Artisan Raw GO! is made from raw meat, organs and bone and freeze-dried instead of cooked, so it is as easy to store and serve as dry food.

Artisan Raw GO! comes in two recipes, Signature and Hypoallergenic. Each is made from the same recipe as our frozen Signature and Hypoallergenic, with the water removed. A freeze-dried puck is fed one for one in place of a frozen puck.

There is no need to add water to Artisan Raw GO, it can be fed as is.
However, if your dog prefers the taste of moist food you are welcome to rehydrate before feeding.

Most meats, fruits, and vegetables contain high levels of water. Removing this water results in the finished freeze-dried product weighing considerably less than traditional dry/kibble and raw or wet dog foods.

Freeze-drying removes the moisture bacteria need to grow, so in ideal conditions freeze-dried food can last for many years. We recommend using Artisan Raw GO! within 2 years of production, stored cool and dry. It ships anywhere in Canada from our online shop.

Artisan Raw GO! has no added preservatives, vitamins or minerals. Removing the water is what keeps it shelf-stable.
