What is Freeze-dried dog food?
Freeze-drying is a process that gently removes the moisture from the ingredients. Unlike cooked pet food, freeze-drying preserves the nutrients, enzymes, and flavour.
Does Freeze-dried require any preparation?
No.
Artisan Raw GO meals and treats are ready to serve as they are. Once the raw ingredients have been freeze-dried, they require no additional preparation. Simply open the bag and feed the required amount for the size of your pet.
Is this Kibble?
Freeze-dried is NOT kibble.
Freeze-dried food maintains the nutrients, vitamins, and taste of the raw ingredients, whereas traditional dry/kibble is exposed to high levels of heat which removes a high proportion of enzymes and nutrition. Freeze-dried is no less convenient than dry/kibble but a far more natural and wholesome food.

One puck of Artisan Raw GO is equal to one puck of our Raw.
The recipe is the same, the nutrition is the same, only the water has been removed!

There is no need to add water to Artisan Raw GO, it can be fed as is.
However, if your dog prefers the taste of moist food you are welcome to rehydrate before feeding.

Most meats, fruits, and vegetables contain high levels of water. Removing this water results in the finished freeze-dried product weighing considerably less than traditional dry/kibble and raw or wet dog foods.

Studies have shown that freeze drying prevents bacterial growth and spoilage, thereby extending the shelf life of meats and other perishables by up to 20 years!
